In the shadowed aisles of a centuries-old university library, a brilliant, underemployeed and overlooked computer science graduate Mara Andrews stumbles upon a strange fusion of ancient glyphs and modern code hidden in a faded manuscript.
Playing with the code, she enters it into her laptop. The code reveals a secret interface: not for a program, but for a simulation code of reality itself. With a few keystrokes, Mara can rewrite the world around her, bending memories, objects, even people to her will.
But every edit sends ripples through existence, drawing the attention of the Guardians, unreadable figures of ghost data, and the Curators, a secret society descended from the Templars who have been quietly patching reality for centuries to keep it from collapsing. Hunted, manipulated, and unsure what’s real, Mara must descend into the deepest layer of the system and execute the Rollback.Protocol or risk corrupting everything and ending the simulation that we call life.
